Olmos Park Youth Commission focuses on the core values of leadership, citizenship, service, community building and enterprise.
This season’s enterprise initiative was to support the 3rd annual Olmos Park Sip & Shop is happening the first two weekends this month – Dec. 5-6 and 12-13! In partnership with the city of Olmos Park, Olmos Park Economic Development Corporation (OPEDC) and Olmos Park Living Magazine, this year’s event is poised to be the best yet with 18 businesses participating.
The youth commission enterprise team helped coordinate many of the marketing elements that comprised the initiative. Those included a business survey for businesses interested in participating (created by member Brittin McBirnie); advocacy for city funding (Eli Greenberg) and social media marketing (chaired by Molly Duphorne).
The event marketing included a street banner (hanging over Hildebrand Ave at Thelma Drive); a story in Olmos Park Living magazine, a post card mailing to 3300 homes in Olmos Park, Monte Vista, Alamo Heights and Terrell Hills, paid Facebook ads and message posting, lawn signs, window clings and emails.
