OPYC helps launch “shopping LOCAL” initiative – THE 3rd annual olmos park sip & shop

Olmos Park Sip & Shop happening OVER TWO WEEKENDS! (Dec 5-6 and Dec 12-13)
The McCullough Avenue shopping district is growing with couture and collected fashion, home decor, interior design, salons, dentistry, financial expertise, art galleries, coffee shops, unique sandwich shops, restaurants and even pet-focused offerings. Something for everyone!   Find that special gift for that special someone beginning this weekend and support local businesses. 18 businesses along McCullough Avenue and Olmos Drive are participating!

Olmos Park Youth Commission focuses on the core values of leadership, citizenship, service, community building and enterprise. This season’s enterprise initiative spotlighted “shopping local,” , especially timely with businesses being hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Sip & Shop marketing initiative brought together several partners to forge together a variety of marketing elements which included a business survey (created by enterprise co-chair Brittin McBirnie), advocacy of city funding (enterprise co-chair Eli Greenberg) and Facebook business posts (Mollie Duphorne), along with a story in Olmos Park Living magazine, purchased Facebook ads and message boosting; street banner, colorful lawn signs, window clings, and email blasts.
